सुर्खेत — २०२८ सालमा जन्मिएका राजकुमार शर्मा चौरजहारी नगरपालिका—१४ साक्चाका टीकाराम शर्मा र यसोधा शर्माका कान्छा छोरा हुन् । प्रतिभा केसीसँग बैवाहिक बन्धनमा बाँधिएका उनी एक छोरीका अभिभावक हुन् । शर्मा २०४१ सालमा स्कुल पढ्दापढ्दै अनेरास्ववियुको राजनीतिमा संलग्न भएका थिए । २०५०÷०५१ सालमा रुकुम–रोल्पामा सञ्चालित ग्रामीण वर्ग संघर्षको थालनी गर्दै सशस्त्र विद्रोहका बेला शर्मा पूर्णकालीन कार्यकर्ता भएर लागेको थिए ।
२०४८ सालबाट मोटो मशालको पार्टी सदस्यता लिएर विद्यार्थी राजनीति थालेका थिए । २०५० सालमा महतको फूलबारी जंगलमा ४५ दिने सशस्त्र तालिम गरेर सशस्त्र युद्धका लागि फौजी आधार तयार गर्नमा शर्माको महत्वपूर्ण भूमिका रहेको उनका जानकारहरु बताउँछन् । शर्माले ०५२ फागुन १ गते रूकुमको राडी प्रहरी चौकी कब्जा गर्न नेतृत्वदायी भूमिका खेलेका थिए । ०५३ पुसमा डोल्पाको त्रिवेणी चौकी आक्रमणमा पनि उनी सहभागी भए ।
२०५४ देखि ०६१ सालसम्म शर्माले साविक कर्णालीका विभिन्न जिल्लाहरुको सेक्रेटरीदेखि इन्चार्जसम्मको जिम्मेवारी पाएका थिए । शान्ति प्रक्रियापछि भने थारुवान राज्य समिति दाङ–कञ्चनपुरको प्रमुख भए । ०६७ सालपछि नेवाः राज्यमा रहेर काम गरे । उनीसँग माओवादीको केन्द्रीय प्रचार विभागमा समेत रहेर काम गरिसकेको अनुभव छ । २०७४ सालमा शर्मा जिल्ला समन्वय समिति रुकुम पश्चिमको प्रमुख बने । त्यसबेला उनले सबै स्थानीय तहसँग सम्बन्ध स्थापित गरी विकास–निर्माण र कानुन निर्माणका काममा महत्वपूर्ण भूमिका निर्वाह गरेका थिए । शर्माको सरल व्यवहार र इमान्दारिता सबैका लागि अनुकरणीय रहेको छ ।
३८ वर्षअघि विद्यार्थी पृष्ठभूमिबाट राजनीति सुरु गरेका शर्मा बुधबार कर्णाली प्रदेशको मुख्यमन्त्री बन्न सफल भएका छन् । २५ सांसदको समर्थनमा शर्मा मुख्यमन्त्री नियुक्त भएका हुन् । वर्ग संघर्षबाट राजनीतिमा स्थापित भएका उनी इमान्दार र निडर नेताको रुपमा परिचित छन् । शर्माले नेकपा माओवादी केन्द्र रुकुम पश्चिमको इञ्चार्ज र कर्णाली प्रदेश अध्यक्षको भूमिकासमेत निर्वाह गरिसकेका छन् । आफूसँग कर्णालीको मुहार बदल्ने र प्रदेशलाई समृद्धिको यात्रामा डोयाउने योजना भएकाले मुख्यमन्त्रीमा दाबी गरेको शर्माको भनाइ छ ।
