कालीकाेट- मार्च ८ अर्थात् अन्तर्राष्ट्रिय नारी दिवस । विश्वभर विभिन्न कार्यक्रम गरेर नारी दिवस मनाउने गरिन्छ । तर नारी दिवस मार्च ८ मा नै किन मनाइन्छ त ?
खासमा अन्तर्राष्ट्रिय नारी दिवस एक मजदुर आन्दोलनको उपज हो । यसको विजारोपण सन् १९०८ मा भएको थियो । जब १५ हजार भन्दा बढी महिला न्युयोर्क शहरमा जुलुस निकाले आफ्ना काम गर्ने घण्टा कम गर्न माग गर्दै सडकमा ओर्लिएका थिए । उनीहरुले राम्रो पारिश्रमिक दिन र मतदानमा आफ्नो अधिकारको माग गरेका थिए ।
यस आन्दोलनको एक बर्षपछि अमेरिकाको सोशलिष्ट पार्टीले महिला दिवसको घोषणा गर्यो । अब यो दिनलाई अन्तर्राष्ट्रिय महिला दिवस बनाउने सिलसिलेवार घटनाहरु भएको पाइन्छ । सन् १९१० मा कोपनहेगनमा क्लारा जेटकिनले एक महिला अन्तर्राष्ट्रिय कन्फेरेन्सका क्रममा अन्तर्राष्ट्रिय महिला दिवस मनाउने सुझाव दिएकी थिइन् । सो कन्फेरेन्समा १७ देशका सय महिला उपस्थित रहेका थिए । सबैले यो सुझावको समर्थन गरेका थिए । यसको महिलो बर्ष १९११ मा अस्ट्रिया, डेनमार्क, जर्मनी र स्विटजरल्याण्डमा महिला दिवस मनाइएको थियो ।
तर ८ मार्च नै किन रोजियो भन्ने प्रसंग अझ रोचक रहेको छ । क्लाराले अन्तर्राष्ट्रिय महिला दिवस मनाउन कुनै मिति तोकेकी थिइनन् । सन् १९१७ मा आन्दोलनका क्रममा रुसमा महिलाहरुले ‘ब्रेड एण्ड पिस’ अर्थात खाना र शान्तिको माग गरेका थिए ।महिलाहरुको हड्तालले सम्राट निकोलसले पद नै छोड्नु परेको थियो । त्यसपछि बनेको अन्तरिम सरकारले महिलालाई मतदानको अधिकार दियो । त्यति बेला रुसमा जुलियन क्यालेन्डरको प्रयोग हुन्थ्यो । उनीहरुले आन्दोलन शुरुगरेको दिन फेब्रुअरी २३ थियो भने ग्रेगेरियन क्यालेन्डर अनुसार सो दिन मार्च ८ थियो ।
यसरी सोहि दिनलाई अन्तर्राष्ट्रिय नारी दिवसको रुपमा मनाउन थालियो ।
तर संयुक्त राष्ट्रसंघले १९७५ मा मात्र आधिकारिक मान्यता दिएको थियो । त्यस बर्षदेखी अन्तर्राष्ट्रिय नारी दिवसलाई बार्षिक हिसाबले एक थीम दिएर मनाउन थालिएको हो । पहिलो महिला दिवसको थीम ‘सेलिब्रेटिंग द पास्ट, प्लानिंग द फ्युचर’ रहेको थियो ।
यस बर्ष ११३औँ अन्तर्राष्ट्रिय नारी दिवसका लागि राष्ट्रिय नारा ‘लैङ्गिक समानताको बलियो आधार : सिर्जनात्मक प्रविधिमा महिला पहुँचको विस्तार’ रहेकाे छ । आजै अर्थात बुधबार देशभर ११३औँ अन्तर्राष्ट्रिय नारी दिवस बिभिन्न कार्यक्रमका साथ बनाइदै छ ।
